Your beliefs form your attitude which ultimately create your mindset. AND since your mindset is driving your behaviour—you are directly responsible for the outcomes you produce in your life.
That simple.
If you haven’t listened to today’s podcast (Episode #7) do that now.
One thing you want to remember is this….your beliefs are made up of a complicated web that has been forming and shifting from the day you were born. It is not so easy to influence let alone change them but it can be done.
In this first part of the series on Mindset I take some time to paint a picture of how we can learn from how we change our collective beliefs, attitudes and mindsets. Sometimes by seeing it in the big picture it helps us recognize it in our own lives.
You likely know there are two paths to influence and change mindsets and yet I hope by exploring it this way it gives you a new and different perspective before we explore stories over the rest of the series.
Preparing this series offered me an opportunity to reflect back 15-20 years ago when I first thought about limiting beliefs and the impact they had on the choices I made. There was clarity to be found in my own experiences when I examined how societal norms were influenced for change. Changes we look back on with pride and a sense of accomplishment as a society—even against the resistance posed by our desire to stay in the rut.
I would love to hear examples from each of you to help layer my learning and add to my insights.
Join my mailing list and you will receive a worksheet by the end of August that supports your thinking and learning on Mindset. The handout will break down the suggestions I make in Episode 7 and build on them.
Next Week: I will examine a story of when I learned how I would make better choices by recognizing a limiting belief that was holding me back. As the series progresses we will look at the Judger/Learner Mindset and the Growth/Fixed Mindset.
